If it allows OpenAI to provide better service to more people for longer, sure. People won't like it, but it's the same tradeoff we've been living with forever with Google and ad-supported TV. Hopefully the ads will be more relevant. An irrelevant ad is bad for the user, the advertiser, and the platform. A relevant ad, on the other hand, can actually be helpful.
