Not responsible for what users post, no, though they should have some responsibility for what gets amplified by their algorithms.

That might be a step too far. Algorithms get you to the content you want faster. That's great. Unfortunately, optimizing for engagement also means amplifying outrage, division, and misinformation. Regulating one without killing the other is the challenge.
