In the past, not much. With this administration, it does wear on you.

It's been this bad for a long time - or rather, the reason the news is this bad now is because of what previous Admins could get away with hiding or making sound reasonable. Of course, your wording is interesting in this context, as the real difference is not the Admins, but the behavior of corporate mass-media.

I put most of the blame here on Trump. Conduct that would have ended political careers only 15 years ago now seem like weekly fare.

(sorry for delayed reply) Could you be specific? I would claim it was just as bad 15 years ago as it is now, the only difference being it was better-hidden/condoned.

How about these for a start: * Threatening Greenland * Pushing Canada as 51st state * Renaming Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario  * "Reciprocal" tariffs  * Threatening broadcasters and late-night hosts (Kimmel, Colbert) * Restricting press access over unfavorable coverage * Targeting law firms tied to political opponents * Withholding congressionally approved funds * Deploying military forces into US cities * Running taxpayer-funded ads featuring himself * Pursuing investigations of political adversaries * Attacking his own Supreme Court appointees after adverse rulings * Attacking the Fed * Self-enriching crypto venture * Trump merchandise galore
