Should Washington, D.C., get President Trump's proposed triumphal arch?
President Trump has proposed building a triumphal arch in Washington, D.C., and has claimed military operations are needed at the site for national security while a federal court weighs the project's legality.
Hopefully, what time remains of the Trump presidency will be insufficient to get this idiotic project off the ground. But if it does, the interesting question will be how soon can it get knocked down.
Just a few of the other changes I hope will be quickly reversed:
* Oval Office smothered in gold trim
* Cabinet Room packed with gilding
* Lincoln Bathroom covered in marble
* Rose Garden converted to stone patio
* West Colonnade becomes unflattering presidential gallery
* South Lawn gets granite helipad
* East Wing demolished for gilded ballroom
* Kennedy Center repainted and rebranded
