I've not seen more than a clip, but I am aware there was a South Park episode a few seasons ago now that addressed this in no uncertain terms, complete with Cartman dressed up as an ole' plantation-massah'.

They should be able to share in the value they're creating for the schools (NIL) for sure, but not as employees. They're also there for an education, no?
