Science assumes that our human senses are adequate for detecting all that there is to detect in the universe around us, an entirely unprovable belief. I personally have no problem believing there are things happening around us all the time that our limited senses simply aren’t designed to detect. Also, I grew up in a very old part of the world where anyone who didn’t believe in ghosts was considered nuts, since there was always a place nearby you could go to and get firsthand experiences with them……and almost always get “more then you bargained for”

True. But I tend to think reality is what it is, regardless of what I believe.
I tend to anchor on what can be proven scientifically. Ghosts haven't met that bar.
