Legally resident citizens of other EU countries are allowed to vote in the local elections of countries they reside in. I regard this as an essential confirmation of the ideal many of us in Europe still aspire to, namely a Federal States of Europe.
Fair point. Residents have a stake in local decisions, for sure, but to me, citizenship is still an important voting threshold. EU citizens share a broader political union. I’m not sure it translates to the US.
if you vote yes, does that mean a green card holder in your town should decide your school board too, or just certain elections? where's the line.
