At an appearance on October 21, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang argued that advancing AI's capabilities and making it safe are 'one and the same,' days after pledging $250 million to AI safety research.
AI will soon progress beyond our ability to understand it, so I do agree that AI will be the best defense against rogue AI (whether self- or human-directed). It's unsettling to think about, but the genie is out of the bottle now and we need to deal with it.
