Was the U.S. right to pull all its bombers out of Britain's RAF Fairford base after a suspected terror plot?

On October 4, 2026, the U.S. moved all its Air Force bombers out of Britain's RAF Fairford base — used for long-range strikes during its war with Iran — after a reported suspected terror plot targeting the site.

If you can't protect the asset in its current location, move the asset. But then why are we unable to protect some of our most valuable assets? Don't we have the most testosterone-infused mondo-warriors in all of history? WTF? Fearful of a bunch of Iranians who are completely defeated and who will surrender unconditionally after the midterms?

As long as they remain an asset in the attended region and not just an excuse to pull back support.

Of course. Those aircraft (B52s, B1s, B2s) are worth ~$100M to more than $1B each. Ukraine proved how vulnerable such bases are to drone attacks. Move 'em or lose 'em.
