Should every U.S. state allow no-excuse voting by mail?

Mail-in voting works well. Eight states use it exclusively and a dozen more to greater or lesser extents. All require standard voter registration and all, to the best of my knowledge, require signature validation - as they should.

If you're voting Yes, does that hold even without signature verification or ID checks, or is that where it breaks for you?
