Should the U.S. end cash bail?

I’m less attached to cash bail than making sure defendants show up and dangerous people are detained. The system should be based primarily on flight risk and public safety, not who can afford the bond. Low-risk defendants shouldn't risk losing their jobs, housing, family stability, etc. just because they can't pay.
