Should U.S. states that use the death penalty switch away from lethal injection?

A string of problem-plagued lethal injections, including Tennessee's failed attempt to execute Christa Gail Pike, has renewed debate over how states carry out the death penalty.

again, i am baffled as to why it is hard to come up with a humane lethal injection.

It's not. The problem is both Doctors and the pharmaceutical industry are opposed so this tends to be done by who ever they can find. Add in the base cruelty of the American penal system and our worship of cost cutting services to discarded people and it's a wonder it isn't much much worse

One thing's evidently for certain: If we're going to have the death-penalty at all, we should move back to hanging (like in Japan) or the guillotine, because all the newer methods have proved to be LESS humane! Those two are still the surest and swiftest options.

If you picked "switch to another method" — what method, and does it actually solve the botched-execution problem or just rebrand it?
