There is only one military leader who needs to be cut: Pete Hegseth, sui generis in a cabinet of incompetents, assclowns, and toadies.

Is that the right number? Should they cut at all? I'd generally say the Defense Secretary is the best person to make such a call, but I have no confidence in Hegseth. My preference would be that he makes no changes until someone more competent takes on the role.
