"Jury of your peers" is tough without mandatory duty. It also promotes a shared appreciation for the process. Sure, it's a hassle for many, but I'd argue it's core to what makes the system work.

if you're voting voluntary: courts already struggle to seat juries of peers, so who shows up when it's optional and how do you trust that verdict.
