Should the U.S. admit more refugees, fewer refugees, or about the same as now?

The White House move to cancel U.S. refugee resettlement funding as part of a broader $810 million spending cut has reignited debate over how many refugees the country should take in.

This is not an immigrant question on it face value - it is asking about refugees. There is no way to answer this poll - more or less? I don't know. But we should admit refugees that need protection based on our ideals. I am not sure the US has a set of ideals any more... but that is what it should be based on.

Welcoming immigrants is core to what made America what it is. We can have secure borders and still be a country that gives genuine refugees a chance to rebuild their lives.

We are a nation of immigrants and refugees. We once stood as a beacon of freedom and a welcoming home where the dispossessed could achieve their dreams through hard work. That still works as people from Latin American countries, Iraqis, Vietnamese, and so many others have shown. This is not to suggest that we should have open borders. But to prosper we need more workers, not fewer.
