Opportunities for wish-making I have heard of: - blowing out your birthday-candles (and possibly making the first slice of your cake) - accidentally saying something at the same time as someone else (then you hook pinkies) - seeing a shooting-star - seeing the first star of the night ("Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might...oh nuts, that's a satellite!") This one is new to me.
Huh? If wishes were horses, beggars would ride - Scottish proverb. Instead of wishing, doing something positive is more likely to yield the desired effect whether 11:11 or 10:10.
