"Reporting Fairly" can mean several different distinct things. Selecting stories based on some non-partisan notion of importance? Presenting information without implying any specific judgement? Pointing you to the primary sources which you can read yourself? Generating good new primary sources? Different outlets are good at different things. I think the fundamental social function of "The News" is different now that the internet exists, because there's so much primary-source information you can get yourself. Many "News" organizations are self-consciously "opinionated information filters" more than "information delivery streams". Does that make them less fair, or are they just a different kind of organization caused by a different information environment?
Agree there are so many different flavors of "news" today, from fact reporting to interpreting to providing opinion (or a platform for others to share their opinions). As consumers of the news, it's important we know which we're consuming at any time, and take each for what it is. "Fair" may not be what you're after, which is fine as long as you're aware that's what you're consuming.
Depends on which ones, but there are certainly many solid news outlets to choose from
