Did they want us to leave? Then, yes. We are not stopping any rise of terrorism or any threat by being there unwanted. If they did not want us to leave, it seems a small price to pay in the sowing of democracy in a very unstable region.

What precisely would have been the point in staying? What was the point of going in in the first place? Is Iraq better off today? Is the Middle east more stable? FAFO.

Staying meant more troops, more money, no guarantee ISIS doesn't fill the vacuum anyway. Leaving meant handing it off and hoping. Which risk bothers you more?
