When their parents are deported, should U.S.-born children be sent abroad with them or allowed to stay in the United States?
A second U.S. deportation flight in a week sent U.S.-born children to Haiti as ICE stepped up raids on the Haitian community in Springfield, Ohio.
I assume we are talking about minors. If so, they should go with parents unless there is a close relative the can be supported and raised by. Presumably they will still maintain their US birthright citizenship and can return as adults if that’s what they choose.
none of these options say who pays to fly the kid, feed the kid, or raise the kid once mom and dad are gone. if you picked "allowed to stay," where does an 8-year-old actually sleep that night?
